The Perfect Kids Birthday Party Food On A Budget

By Dominic On December 7, 2009 Under Save Money

These days it can sometimes seem like it is a competition to see who can have the most lavish kids party which is all well and good but it can often put a great deal of pressure on the parents due to the costs involved. The main costs are often the food and I have been told many times that the kids don’t seem to appreciate all of the fancy stuff that is sometimes on offer.

You will be pleased to know that it is definitely possible to have the perfect kids birthday party food on a budget, it just takes a little imagination that’s all.

There are many dishes that you can put together very cheaply that are also good for the children and one of the first ones that springs to mind are carrots, yes carrots!!

Simply cut the carrots into long strips and place them in a circle around a small bowl of cream cheese. The children dip the individual pieces of carrot into the cream cheese and I can assure you that they absolutely love it. The same thing can also be made with celery cut into strips instead of the carrot.

Something that children love that goes well with the aforementioned are hot dogs. Get a jumbo bag of hot dog rolls from the supermarket along with a large pack of sausages, fry up some onions and the little darlings will savour every mouth full.

Round it off with a large economy size tub of ice cream which will be enough to give each child a large bowl full with perhaps even enough for a second helping.

You will be pleasantly surprised how much money you can save by taking the above steps as an example and believe me, the children won’t know any difference.

This particular menu is just an example but it gives you a taste of what you can do. I always think that if the children are laughing and enjoying themselves then it doesn’t matter what they are eating and the people that do seem to put to much emphasis on it is the parents because they want their children to have the very best of everything.

To your food heaven

Dominic
