Do You Watch Cookery Shows And If So Who Is Your Inspiration?

26 January 2011, Comments 0

Cooking is my obsession. I really love searching the whole world to learn the best food for my family and spending my time at the kitchen together with my wife. Kidding aside, if cooking is a woman, then my wife Samantha will definitely get jealous as I am always thinking about it.

Part of my cooking passion is watching cookery shows. It is really edifying to me. Besides earning additional information and useful ideas about cooking, I learn many tips and techniques on how to present my own cookery show. You may never know, but I used to make my own cooking show and my favourite audience are my wife, my child, my relatives and friends. I also dream that one day, I will become a master of cooking shows.
Do you watch cookery shows and if so who is your inspiration? Well, my inspiration on cookery shows is none other than but Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver.

"Gordon Ramsay"

I am very much inspired by a 44 years old Gordon Ramsay, a Scottish Chef who has been awarded a total of 12 Michelin stars and became one of the only three chefs in the United Kingdom to garner three Michelin stars (which means “exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey”) at one time. I love his television programs such as Hell’s Kitchen, The F Word and Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares.

"Jamie Oliver"

Just like Gordon, I am also inspired by Jamie Oliver – an English Chef who specializes in Italian cuisine. He is popular for his television shows, cookbooks and his campaign against the use of processed foods. He also struggle to improve poor cooking habits and unhealthy diets in the US and UK.

During cookery shows, you always need to have an enticing gimmick to stand out from the crowd. Just like Gordon and Jamie, you should always come up with new style of cooking because dull moment has no place on any cooking shows. Try to have an interesting or even funny story about the menu and recipes you are making. Because keeping your show interesting, funny, lively and different are the key to have a successful cookery show.
