It must not be underestimated how important it is for a family to sit down together around the table to enjoy a family dinner. It is not just the fact that the family are eating together but that if they are sitting down together they will also be talking and laughing, something that many families don’t get the chance to do in this day and age.
Due to the hectic pace that life is now led, everyone seems to be far to busy to enjoy the basic things in life that really do make such a big difference and it is far easier to sit and eat a quick meal in front of the television or in some cases, miss meals out altogether.

McDonalds Vs Homemade Burgers – Beating The Recession
As a family we can not resist regular trips to McDonalds especially for one of the burgers as they taste so nice when you want your quick fix of naughty food. Not to mention the fact that the children absolutely love it and my son gets very excited for a nice yummy burger.
When we lived in England before relocating to the Algarve in Portugal we used to have a McDonalds once a month. But since moving to Portugal there isn’t a McDonalds as close by and we have adapted a much more healthier attitude so we have decided to challenge ourselves to some lovely homemade burgers that we can enjoy as a family.

This has to be one of my favourites and it is such a great idea I don’t know why I didn’t think of it myself. It is basically a bread storage container but the lid also doubles up as a bread cutting board. The container is of good quality and to round it off it really does look really good.

Dominic’s $7 Family Meals: Garlic Bread and Meatballs
I love the idea of being able to save money and provide wonderful meals for the family. So I am starting the $7 family meals with a traditional family favourite.
A starter of Garlic Bread, followed by a main of Meatballs.
Whether you are two years old or fifty we all love meatballs with a lovely tomato sauce. Though like with roast potatoes we all seem to argue over who gets the most. Many times though in my household it is Daddy that gets the extra one!!!
